Visas
One in five New Zealanders was born overseas, meaning the country’s entire identity has been shaped by migration; and, more New Zealand visas are granted to UK passport holders every year than to those from any other country.
Immigration New Zealand and the Department of Labour agree that “immigration plays an increasingly important role as our [New Zealand’s] population ages and we seek to attract the skills and talent to supplement New Zealand’s workforce”.
A recent ongoing study commissioned by the Department of Labour revealed that 93% of skilled principal migrants to New Zealand are employed, with a full 70% of total migrants employed. Seventy-nine percent of the migrants surveyed stated that they were ‘satisfied’ or ‘very satisfied’ with their job in New Zealand.
