Skilled Migrant Category

New Zealand has an ongoing need for highly skilled workers to help the country’s social development and economical growth.

To apply under this category, you need to be aged between 20 and 55 (inclusive) and meet the standards of health, character and English language proficiency set by Immigration New Zealand.

New Zealand uses a points-based system to assess skilled migrant applications. Before moving forward with your visa application, you will need to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) that will determine your suitability in two main areas: general background and the skilled migrant point system. You will be able to claim points for your skills, experience and other factors. You may include your partner and children in your EOI submission.

Your EOI submission will be entered into a pool and applicants with 140 or more points are automatically selected to apply. If there are any places remaining, Immigration New Zealand will select as many additional applicants as possible with points of 100 or more during its fortnightly selection.

Our Journey Managers will be happy to explain this process in detail and help you through both the initial EOI assessment and the secondary visa application.
